Canton to Host Family Snow Skiing & Snowshoeing Event

Canton, MI, January 27, 2010 - Grab your mittens and scarves and head on over to the Lower Rouge River Recreation Trail for an outdoor adventure of snow skiing and snowshoeing fun on February 13. At this Family Snow Day event you’ll be able to investigate the trail, located off Michigan Avenue at Morton Taylor, by ski or snowshoes from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment, however if you would like to rent gear, Canton Leisure Services has arranged for snow ski equipment rentals to be on hand for $10 per set – limited quantities available. To rent equipment, please call 394-5474 before Monday, February 8.

If there isn’t enough snow for skiing and snowshoeing, please join us for a scenic walk of the trail instead. Regardless of the amount of snow on the ground, you can still connect to the outdoors during this fun excursion. Hot coco and snacks will be available for a small donation, regardless of the weather. Remember to dress appropriately for this outdoor event.
