Start Smart Youth Sports Programs

General

This introductory program is for children (3-5 yrs) and adult guardians to participate together in a 6 week general sport skills and confidence course. Each participant will receive sports equipment and a workbook. Parents and players will participate in fun activities that provide training tools, build motor skills and confidence in a fun, stress free environment. All general sport skills are covered such as throwing, catching, kicking and swinging. Offered in Winter, Spring and Fall months.

Baseball

Swing away with an introductory fun sports program that introduces basic sport skills related to baseball. This adult-child class gives parents and players (ages 4 & 5) an opportunity to learn about baseball using specialized kits prepared by the National Alliance for Youth Sports for children of this age to enjoy their first taste of sports. The cost includes a participant kit (bat and ball set, glove, koosh ball, and a mondo koosh ball), a parents meeting/manual and six weeks of instruction at Canton's premier Softball Center.

Offered in Spring and Summer months.

Soccer

It's soccer time once again! Sign up your preschooler for an incredible soccer class at High Velocity Sports. This class is designed for children 3-5 years old and their adult guardians to participate together in a six-week soccer program. Program fee includes one Koosh (size 3) Soccer Ball, one Kwik Goal Soccer Ball, one set of Kwik Goal youths shin guards, four soccer cones and 1 Start Smart Soccer participants manual, which is yours to keep after the six-week program. So not only do you get a fabulous kit, you also receive guides, skill sets and fun activities from which you'll build motor skills and confidence for your child in a stress free environment. Offered in Winter, Spring and Fall months.

Soccer II

The Start Smart Soccer II program is set for children (6-7 yrs) and adult guardians to participate together in a 6-week sport skills and confidence course. Participants are required to have prior soccer experience or have completed the Start Smart Soccer I program. Skill development and preparation for organized play will be emphasized. The cost of the program includes 1 Koosh (size 3) Soccer ball, 1 Kwik Goal Soccer Ball, 1 set of Kwik Goal youth shin guards, 4 soccer cones and 1 Start Smart Soccer participants manual, which is yours to keep after the 6 week program. Offered in winter, spring and fall months.

Basketball

Is your preschooler curious about basketball? If so, then this is the class for him/her! This class is set for children (3-5 years) and adult guardians to participate together in a 6 week basketball program. The program kit includes 1 mini basketball, 1 soft bounce basketball, 4 cones, 1 jersey, and 1 participant manual. This kit is yours to keep at the end of the 6 week program. Not only do you get a fabulous kit, this program's focus will be on dribbling, ball handling, passing, catching, shooting, running, and agility. Offered in Winter, Spring and Fall months.

Basketball II

Calling new basketball players! The Start Smart Basketball II class is set for children who have been exposed to the game of basketball or have completed the Start Smart Basketball I program. The new Start Smart Basketball II class is set for children (6-7 years) and adult guardians to participate together in a 6 week basketball program. The program kit includes 1 mini basketball, 1 soft bounce basketball, 4 cones, 1 jersey, and 1 participant manual. This kit is yours to keep at the end of the 6 week program. Golf

Start Smart Golf is a parent participation program children ages 5-7 who have never played golf. The program teaches parents how to teach using fun, developmentally appropriate equipment that can be used almost anywhere. The specialized SNAG golf products used in the class allow kids to participate in fun activities that provide training tools, build motor skills and confidence in a non-threatening, stress free learning environment. All necessary equipment is provided for both the child and parent to participate in the class. Parents will also receive a workbook that they can review with their children. Offered in Spring and Summer months.
