Canton Township along with several Canton Youth Sport Organization offers resident children and youth an opportunity to learn, play, and compete in many sports. Whether the sport your looking for is Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer or Hockey, Canton Township has what your preschool, child or youth needs.

Youth Football

Canton Lions Football Club

Football players and cheerleaders from ages 8-14 years old are eligible to join the Canton Lions Football Club. Registration for the season occurs first week of March. For information on the upcoming season please refer to the Canton Lions Football Club.

Youth Baseball & Softball

Greater Canton Youth Baseball and Softball AssociationGreater Canton Youth Baseball and Softball Association

Any player age 5-18 years, that lives in the City of Plymouth, Plymouth Twp., Canton Township or attends any school in the Plymouth-Canton School District boundaries is eligible to play. Canton Little LeagueCanton Little League Baseball

Any player who will reach the proper age before August 1, of the year in question shall be eligible to compete in Little League Baseball. Must have proof of residency, attend Plymouth-Canton School District and present a birth certificate. Tryouts to place all players on a team are held in March. League practices start in April with the league complete at the end of June followed by the All-Star tournaments in July. For more information call Don Lohrman at (734)756-7825.

PC Pride Girls Fastpitch OrganizaitonPC Pride Girls Fastpitch

The 2008 Plymouth-Canton Pride is a seventh-year community and travel girls fastpitch softball organization. The Pride organization and teams are located in the adjoining communities of Plymouth, Michigan, and Canton, Michigan.

The Pride is community based organization, part of the Greater Canton Youth Baseball and Softball Association (GCYBSA). Girls that live within the Plymouth-Canton communities or attend ANY school in Plymouth-Canton including Public, Private, Charter and Home Schools are eligible to play for the Pride. The Pride offers 3 levels of play designed to offer fastpitch opportunities for girls to participate from community competition to travel teams that compete at a national level.

In 2006-2007 the Pride will host teams in the 10U, 12U, and 14U and 16-U Elite divisions. For more information, please contact visit their PC Pride Website.

Youth Soccer

Canton Soccer ClubCanton Soccer Club

Outdoor soccer teams are available to players ages 5 to adult. Two full seasons are offered per year. SPRING April through June and FALL September through November.Registrations are offered typically four months prior to the start of a new season. Forms are available at the club office located inside High Velocity Sports on Michigan Ave. or on-line at cantonsoccerclub.com. Try outs for the Select and Premier travel teams begin mid June, please see the web site for updated information. Adult Teams are always looking for additional players 30, 40, and 50+. Men’s and Women’s open premier teams are now available, please contact the club office for more information regarding adult leagues. For all questions regarding outdoor soccer, please contact the club office at 734-480-7046 or email at office@cantonsoccerclub.com. Non residents are welcome.

Teams of all ages abilities including recreation and travel, are encouraged to check out the outstanding facilities and great practice times. Enjoy our knowledgeable and friendly staff of coaches. The fall hockey season runs from September through March. The spring season runs in April and May.

The Learn to Play program is still accepting registrations for ages 5-9 and clinics are held throughout the summer.

Victory Park

Arctic EdgeArctic Edge Ice Area

The Arctic Edge is host to boy's and girl's hockey high school teams and the Canton Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) for boy's and girl's ages 5 thru 17. The rink also offers other programs to the community including: Figure Skating, Learn to Skate, Drop-In Hockey, Open Skating, Sticks and Pucks, Adult Hockey Leagues and birthday party packages. Adult Drop-In Hockey is available on Friday evenings. Please call the arena for times at 734-487-7777.

The Edge is also home to former NHL hockey player, Mike Donnelly. Mike runs the " American Hockey Academy" which offers year round clinics and off-ice facilities located at the rear of the arena.

High Velocity Sports Center

High Velocity SoccerHigh Velocity Sports is a 110,000 square foot indoor sports facility composed of three 175’ x 80’ foot soccer fields and one roller hockey rink.  The facility also has two mini soccer fields, four locker rooms, two party rooms, a conference room, an extensive arcade, and a full-service café.  The soccer fields are used for indoor soccer, flag football, and lacrosse. Alternative sports include field hockey and cricket.  Fields are also used by trainers for individual and team strength, speed, and agility training.  The roller hockey rink is used for roller and floor hockey.  The mini fields are used for soccer clinics, lacrosse clinics, and dodge ball.  Birthday parties, playgroups, and multi-sport kid camps are also in HVS’ forte.  HVS is also available for corporate training sessions and team building.
