PollWorkers
Pollworkers are limited to working on designated election days in the Charter Township of Canton. Workers must be registered voters within the State of Michigan without a felony conviction. Student pollworkers under 18 years of age may work without registering, provided they are older than 16.

Step #1: Head to our new online Training Center and review all materials carefully.

The new hire packet (for Inspectors that have never received a paycheck from Canton Township or have been inactive.Opens in New Window New Inspectors must complete, print, and attach a void check to this packet and deliver it during their first in-person training session.

DUTIES
Poll Workers must be able to:
- Work closely with others
- Assemble simple voting stations
- Read and write legibly in the English language
- Perform simple math calculations
- Follow instructions provided by the precinct Chairperson
- Possess inter-personal skills to work with a diverse community population
- Attend an educational training program (mandatory prior to working an election)
Poll Workers are paid for their service! Below is a list of the typical rates of pay for a full day are:
- $200 Election Inspector
- $300 Chair/Co Chair
- $100 Student Worker (or 1/2 day)
