Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan
(Canton, MI – July 7, 2017) Canton Township will hold a special public meeting to collect community input for its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan. The meeting will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the Canton Administration Building – Board Room, located at 1150 S. Canton Center, Canton, Michigan, 48188.
Individuals who currently reside in Canton Township, or who utilize a Canton facility or service, are encouraged to attend. Comments or concerns related to the accessibility of Canton Township services may be submitted through July 31, 2017. Written comments may be emailed to brad.sharp@canton-mi.org or addressed to Brad Sharp, Facility Services Manager, 1150 S. Canton Center, Canton, Michigan, 48188. Comments may also be made in person during the public hearing.

After the Public meeting, area residents will be invited to complete an online survey. The survey will be available at www.canton-mi.org from August 3 – 31, 2017. The purpose of the survey is to collect additional input to identify possible barriers that may limit access to Canton Township programs, facilities, and services.
To promote accessibility to all interested residents and participants CART (Communication Access Real-time Translation) services will be provided during this public meeting. CART Services include real-time captioning and transcription. In addition, Canton Community Mobility Transportation will offer extended hours to accommodate this evening meeting. Canton Residents who are currently registered with Canton Community Mobility Transportation Services may schedule a ride to and from this public meeting by calling 1-888-539-9879.
The Charter Township of Canton will also provide any additional necessary, reasonable auxiliary aids and services to individuals with disabilities for this public meeting. Request should be made two weeks in advance of the meeting.
