[ARCHIVED] Canton Farmers Market To Host 5th Annual Rally On Ridge Fundraising Event

On Saturday, July 21, 2018, area residents are invited to attend the Fifth Annual Rally on Ridge at Preservation Park and the Cherry Hill District for a festive evening of food, fun, music, and more all to benefit the Canton Farmers Market.

From 5:30 – 9:00 p.m., both Preservation Park and the Cherry Hill District will play host to food trucks featuring deliciously gourmet menus, as well as live music from talented local artists. Event-goers who plan to stay for the music are encouraged to bring along a lawn chair or picnic blanket. No need to choose just one stop, stroll between the two nearby locales to enjoy vendors in both spots.

To allow for a larger event footprint, Ridge Road will be closed from 3:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Cherry Hill Road north to Denton Road. Over 20 food trucks and vendors are tentatively expected to take part in this year’s event. Find a complete list of participating food trucks on the Canton Farmers Market Facebook page the week of the event. In addition, a Beer Garden featuring hard cider s elections will also be available for participants 21 years of age and older in the Cady-Boyer Barn.

“We’re excited to bring back this popular annual event that has become a great date night, where participants can enjoy a pleasant evening outside and some delicious eats from a fantastic lineup of gourmet food trucks, as well as talented local entertainment,” said Farmers Market Coordinator Sheree Buckman. “It’s the perfect event for showcasing the home of the Canton Farmers Market while building community support for Market programming.”

A portion of the proceeds collected from food vendor sales during this special fundraiser will benefit the Canton Farmers Market, which is currently celebrating its twelfth season. With the recent influx in “buy local” initiatives, the Canton Farmers Market is seeing an increase in both the number of participating growers and in customers. As such, the market continues to expand its offerings during Market hours, which are held every Sunday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. now through October 14, 2018.

This year’s 2018 Rally on Ridge main event sponsor is Edward Jones, Financial Advisor. This year’s Entertainment is sponsored by Rose Lang Realtor. Additional sponsorship support is being provided by the Red Head Salon.

The public is encouraged to attend this special fundraising event, which will be held at the Cherry Hill Village District, as well as in Preservation Park, located at 500 N. Ridge. No admission is required for either location. For additional information about this special fundraiser, as well as Canton’s growing Farmers Market, visit
