The Summit on the Park, Canton’s premier community recreation center, recently unveiled several new health and wellness fitness classes that will be added to their growing lineup of popular fitness offerings for all ages and abilities.
New specialty group fitness classes include: Zumba® Kids; Zumba® Kids Jr.; Parent-Child Zumba®; Aerial Yoga; Spartan Strong; and Man Power.
These three new Zumba® classes will expose younger participants to kid-friendly dance fitness routines based on original Zumba® choreography. Aerial Yoga combines traditional yoga with the use of a suspended hammock. Spartan Strong classes include circuit training that boosts mental and physical strength, while giving participants a well-rounded total body workout. Man Power is a men’s only weight lifting class that encompasses all forms of weight lifting from body weight to power movements.
Returning favorite group fitness classes include: Runner’s Meet Up; Barre; TRX Fit & TRX Fusion; Lifting Ladies; Cardio Cycle & Strength: Yoga (Beginner, Gentle, Yin, Intermediate, Prenatal/Postpartum); Tai Chi (Beginner & Intermediate); Fit of Life; Zumba® Gold with Toning; MELT; and Better Nutrition Better Health.
Each of these registered specialty classes will be offered during all fall and winter sessions. All of the fitness classes offered at the Summit on the Park encourage individuals to further develop their fitness knowledge and skills to enjoy a healthy, vigorous, and safe lifestyle with increased physical activity.
Fees for registered specialty fitness classes for Fall Session 1 (September 9-October 27) and Fall Session 2 (October 28-December 15) are: $53 for Summit on the Park Members; $58 for Canton Residents; and $75 for Non-Residents. Fees for Winter Session 1 (January 6-February 16) and Winter Session 2 (February 17-March 30) are: $45 for Summit Members; $50 for Canton Residents; and $64 for Non-Residents.
Since 1996, the Summit on the Park has been enhancing members’ and visitors’ experiences by providing quality fitness and wellness opportunities that encourage development, community, and lifelong well-being.
The Summit on the Park also hosts state of the art cardio and weight-training equipment in its Fitness Center, for members who prefer to work on their own, as well as personal training and group training. Each week, Summit members may also take part in over 60 free fitness classes ranging from Kettlebell, Yoga, Zumba®, Kickboxing, to Aqua HITT and Aqua Yoga.
The Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway in Canton, MI, is also home to an active Kids’ Corner Child Care Center, Canton Club 55+, and Banquet and Conference Center.
