The 2018 – 19 season at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill will offer everything from a bourbon-themed music event to hoop-jumping cats to the return of side-splitting comedy courtesy of The Second City Tour.
The season opens on October 6, 2018, with Blues & Bourbon, a legendary performance by “Detroit’s Queen of the Blues”, Thornetta Davis, accompanied by a pre-show Bourbon Tasting event. Later, on October 20, 2018, the Village Theater will be hosting Monster Mash, the most spooktacular party of the year. It’s an Adult Halloween Party with live entertainment, games, costume contest, cash bar and refreshments. Detroit All Star Band Showcase will follow on November 16, 2018, promising to be an extraordinary show with the world’s renowned comedy-magician, Jeff Hobson along with the Legendary Jerry Ross Band, the acclaimed Newsmaker Band and Detroit's hottest up and coming band, Atomic Radio.
The Village Theater will then ring in 2019, by inviting you to celebrate New Year’s Eve with the entire family when the Detroit Circus flys back on stage by popular demand with amazing high-flying antics on fabric and trapeze, fire-dancing, stilt walking, acrobatics and more! Following the performance there will be a kid-friendly count-down to 2019. Another family-friendly performance by The World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater will leap on stage on March 22, 2019, and will feature a unique blend of physical comedy, award-winning juggling and the extraordinary talents of more than 30 rescued performing pets.
After the entire family has been entertained, grab your favorite guy or gal and join the Village Theater as The Second City Tour continues its historic five-year sold run with the company’s latest laughter: It’s Not You, It’s Me. – The Second City. The performance will take shots at heartbreak, missed connections and the mire of human relationships on April 13, 2019. Closing out the season on May 11, 2019, music lovers are invited to celebrate the legacy of an iconic singer, songwriter with the Village Theater’s Party Like It’s 1999 – Featuring a Phase 5 Prince Tribute.
