[ARCHIVED] Canton’s Liberty Fest to Showcase Cultures From Around The Globe During 2019 International Festival

Canton’s Liberty Fest continues its popular tradition of hosting an International Festival during its highly-anticipated summer community event. Join in a celebration of diversity as a variety of cultures from around the world will be performed on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 11:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on the Canton LIVE! Stage in Heritage Park, located in Canton, MI.

Presented by the Canton Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage, this special free event will feature cultures from around the world, such as: Indian, Chinese, Irish, Italian, Greek, Japanese, Hawaiian, Sri Lankan, and more!

Groups and performers expected to take the stage, include: Hoaloha - Hawaiian, Polynesian; Chinese Dance Solo by Kayla Li; Belly Dance performed by Faye; Flute/Piano Solo by Kiera; O’Kennedy Irish Dance; Heart Melody Group; Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan; Canton Summit Dance Team; Canton Qi Pao Team; Ann Hua Waist Drum Team; Ebony Cooper – Native American Flute; Asian Indian Dance of Canton; Steppers, Mimes, & Praise Dancers from New Hope Baptist Church of Wayne; Yi Ren Dance Team; Voice of Heart; Taiji Stream; Tim O’Hare School of Traditional Irish Dance; Pipa Solo by Angela Bolon; Tantra – Bollywood Fusion; Sakura – Japanese Group; Michigan New Century Chinese School Performances; The Nativity of The Virgin Mary REVMA Greek Dancers; HruDhwani Fusion Band – Western & Indian Classical.

This free event is suitable for all ages. Festival-goers are reminded that no dogs are allowed on festival grounds and all bikes must be parked in a bike corral. New this year, a convenient Uber, Lyft, or parent drop-off/pick-off spot has been designated on Civic Center Boulevard in front of the Canton Public Library’s main parking lot.
