Canton Leisure Services will once again host this three-day action-packed festival in beautiful Heritage Park, located adjacent to Canton’s Administration Building, west of Canton Center Road between Cherry Hill Road and Summit Parkway. Be sure to take in the summer debut of the free Thursday Night Concert Series at the Canton Live! Stage from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. as Midwest Dueling Pianos kicks things off with a wildly entertaining dueling piano show with plenty of comedy that everyone will love. Also on Thursday from 7:30-9:00 p.m., celebrate another year of Zumba® in Canton with a special Zumba Party in Pink at the Heritage Park Amphitheater. Participants are asked to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research and make a ‘move’ to help make a difference. Admission to the event is a $5 minimum donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Throughout Liberty Fest, the Canton Rotary Club will be hosting an Adult Beverage Tent, which is sponsored by Liberty Street Brewing Company, on Thursday: 4-10 p.m., Friday: 4-10 p.m., and Saturday: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. Come cool off with a cold one, near the Canton LIVE! Stage, where a selection of craft beers and hard ciders will be available. Festival-goers must be 21 years to purchase these adult beverages.
Satisfy your taste buds throughout the festival at the Taste of Canton, sponsored by Twisted Rooster, where participating area restaurants will present their local specialties and compete for bragging rights in a taste contest presided over by Canton Supervisor Phil LaJoy. This year’s participants include: Chopstick House; Fat Chef in a Little Coat; LaSharm; Papa John’s Pizza; Sultan’s Express; and more. Be sure to check out the upscale gourmet Food Truck Rally by the north side of the park near the Canton LIVE! Stage Friday & Saturday from 5-11 p.m. Featured trucks include: Concrete Cuisine; Shimmy Shack; Smokin Rhodes BBQ; and more!
On Friday on the Canton LIVE! Stage, check out Ms. Carissa, with interactive family-friendly edu-tainment from Noon – 3 p.m.; Sonic Freeway performs its high-energy music for 4:30-6:30 p.m.; and Captured Detroit: A Journey Tribute Band will take you on a trip down memory lane as they play the timeless music of one of the biggest hit-makers from the ‘70s & ‘80s from 8-10 p.m.
Friday's Amphitheater Stage entertainment will feature Spotlight on Youth performing highlights from their latest show for all ages to enjoy from 4-5 p.m.; a dynamic performance by Central City Dance from 5:30- 6:30 p.m.; rising country singer Lisa Mary performing all your favorites from 7-8 p.m.; the Plymouth Canton Middle School Pom Pon Team’s high-energy Performance from 8:15 – 8:25 p.m.; plus Silver Sounds DJ providing pre-movie music from 8:45 – 9:45 p.m. and the Movie Under the Stars, featuring “The Wizard of Oz,” rated G, on the big screen at dusk.
Also on Friday, the Annual Spaghetti Dinner is planned from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., while supplies last, with proceeds from the dinner going to the Canton Firefighter Charity Foundation Local 2289. In addition, the America’s Most Wanted Car Show is back with a Kick-Off Registration Party that will take place from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Take a Walk on the Wild Side both Friday and Saturday and enjoy a Petting Farm, pony rides, Exotic Animal Exhibits, plus a Bird Encounter. Be sure to check out merchandise from local artisans, crafters, businesses and vendors around the large pond on Friday from 1 p.m. to dusk and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to dusk.
Saturday highlights include the 20th Annual Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by the Canton Lions Club from 7-11:00 a.m. in the Heritage Park North Pavilion. Canton Leisure Services is again joining forces with Running Fit to host the 4th Annual Liberty Run, including 5K, 10K, and One Mile events. Participants are encouraged to register at www.cantonlibertyrun.com and run, walk, or stroll in these events. Participants will also receive finisher medals, as well as a race T-Shirt. Plus, running theme-awards will be handed out to the best Red, White, Blue, and Don't Forget the Tutu running outfits.
Other Saturday entertainment highlights, include: the International Festival's cultural performances and displays at the Amphitheater Stage from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., presented by the Canton Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage. Featured cultures from around the world, include: Indian, Chinese, Sri Lankan, and more! Don’t miss Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps on the Amphitheater Stage from 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. and The Diva Show tribute to the women of pop, featuring covers of Madonna, Mariah Care, Christina Aguilera and many more from 8-10 p.m. on the Amphitheater Stage.
Other Saturday entertainment highlights on the Canton LIVE! Stage, include: The Amazing Clark on the Canton LIVE! Stage with continuous dance music with dance contests, hula hoop contests, and incredible magic shows from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the Canton Concert Band’s family-friendly performance from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.; the Scott Martin Band playing all of your favorite rock and country hits from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.; and a yet-to-be announced act will take the stage from 8-10 p.m.

America’s Most Wanted Car Show will be back on Saturday, as well. Don’t miss this shining spectacle of classic automobiles around the park’s smaller ponds. All vehicles are welcome and registrations are still being accepted.
