Summit on the Park community recreation center, located at 46000 Summit Parkway in Canton, is now hiring lifeguards and swim instructors. These part-time positions offer flexible hours ideal for students, second job seekers, retirees and more.
“Becoming a lifeguard or swim instructor at Summit on the Park means joining a dynamic, diverse and welcoming team at a great place to work,” said Brad Chiasson, Aquatics Specialist. “These are perfect jobs for anyone seeking flexible hours in a fun environment.”
To assist interested applicants in gaining the necessary certifications for these positions, Summit on the Park will offer a FREE Lifeguard Training Course beginning October 3, 2014. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older and must possess a current certification in Lifeguard Training, C.P.R. for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid from a nationally-recognized organization or must be enrolled and attending a certified Lifeguard Training Program.
Lifeguards and swim instructors at Summit on the Park have the opportunity to work shifts ranging from three to eight hours. In addition, daytime, evening and weekend hours are also available. As Canton Township employees, lifeguards and swim instructors are also entitled to free membership at Summit on the Park, which includes use of fitness and recreational facilities, as well as discounts and priority enrollment in a wide variety of classes and events year-round.
