This photographic retrospective of former President John F. Kennedy will be on display at Canton's Village Theater, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road, Canton, MI, 4817, from November 6 to November 30, 2014. This unique exhibit features over 40 black and white photographs of John F. Kennedy during his visits to Detroit as well as nationally, taken over the years by legendary Detroit Free Press Chief Photographer, Tony Spina.
Spina, a celebrated photojournalist who contributed to the Detroit Free Press' Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the 1967 Detroit Riots, retired in 1989 after over four decades on the Detroit Free Press photographic staff and held the title of Chief Photographer Emeritus until his death in 1995.
The exhibition was created by local photographer Jim Aho, with assistance from Spina's widow and daughters, and will be on display at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill to mark the 51st anniversary of Kennedy's assassination on November 22, 1963.
This art exhibit at the Gallery@VT is free and open to the public: Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., one hour prior to and during public performances at the theater, as well as by appointment. The Gallery@VT is closed on holidays.
