The Jeff Ellis & Associates International Pool and Water Park Shallow Water Lifeguard certification is a highly recognized certification throughout the aquatics industry. The instructors work to ensure that all participants are engaged in a positive learning environment. Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive an International Pool and Water Park Shallow Water Lifeguard Certificate (Valid at Pools with a water depth up to 5 feet).

*Note: Passing this course does not guarantee employment at the Summit on the Park Aquatic Center or other facilities.

This is a four-day course will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. and runs through April 24. Online prerequisite work is required to be done before in-person instruction. Online work will be sent to students for the Jeff Ellis & Associates website once registration is complete. One the first day, the class will meet and begin instruction in the classroom. Please note that there will be a break in between land and water portions for lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Class Schedule:

April 21: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (classroom)
April 22: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (water)
April 23: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (classroom and water)
April 24: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (test-out day)

*STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES*

Due to COVID-19, health and safety precautions will be taken in the classroom and in the pool, though masks cannot be worn while in the water. Please contact the instructor for more details on how the class may run differently from normal.

How To Register:

Participants can register HERE or at cantonfun.org/register and search "Lifeguard Training". The four-day course will again be held Thursday, April 21 through Sunday, April 24 at the Summit on the Park, 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton, MI 48188. Fee for the course is $102 and ages 15 and up are encouraged to sign up for a spot. Participants can register now through April 15 by noon. Participants must bring: food/water, a towel, a whistle, and swimsuit each day.
