Throughout the year Canton Club 55+ offers special daily activities that can enrich and enhance participants' lives. Canton Club 55+ offers these daily programs to keep all participants engaged. Some activities may require registration. CANDID Conversations with Canton Club 55+

Each month Canton Club 55+ continues to feature a different captivating member/volunteer and/or staff person in our Candid Conversations! If you’d like to be profiled in an upcoming edition, please call 734/394-5485 or email us at jennifer.galazka@canton-mi.org. 

This month Mark Durham is in the spotlight sharing details about his fascinating life. Mark joined the United States Marines at the age of 17 and served as a NCO, known as the backbone of the Corps, from December 1975 to December of 1979. After the Marines, he worked for 12 years on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company. While he was employed there, he traveled to California where he was featured in a commercial for the Mustang GT. In Retirement, Mark worked at a delicatessen. Later, he became a volunteer for Food Gatherers, which is a food bank rescue program whose mission is to alleviate hunger. In addition to volunteering his services, Mark enjoys line dancing, singing Karaoke and fishing. You'll often see him playing cards, especially Euchre, at Canton Club 55+.

Looking to play tennis with others? Club 55+ reserves time at two local tennis courts for our recreation tennis program. If all courts are full, players are rotated in. Participants are responsible for bringing their own racquets.

Blood Pressure Screening

Get your blood pressure checked the 2nd Monday of each month by retired nurse, Mary Pilgrim. Please remember to bring something to record your results on.

Crafting at the Club: Tea Party Dolls

Tuesday, May 10

Join master crafter, Suann Dibble, for a unique
experience making a Butter Lamb and Bunny to celebrate Spring. Please bring a garlic press, strainer, and a plate to place your lamb on. Plus, participants are asked to wear clothing that they don't mind getting butter on.

BINGO with Canton Club 55+

Join us for our monthly BINGO Program. Fee includes 8-10 games of BINGO (1 card each). Participants are encouraged to bring their own markers (BINGO dabbers, etc.). Players can only win a prize twice. Register by April 14. Sponsored in part by ProMedica.
