CANDID Conversations with Canton Club 55+Each month Canton Club 55+ continues to feature a different captivating member/volunteer and/or staff person in our Candid Conversations! If you’d like to be profiled in an upcoming edition, please call 734/394-5485 or email us at jennifer.galazka@canton-mi.org.
This month Patrick McNally is in the spotlight sharing details about his fascinating life. Mr. McNally was raised in Butte, Montana in The Richest Hill on Earth-Copper Mines. He graduated from Butte High School a year after Evil Knievel did and was an American stunt performer and entertainer. Mr. McNally served in the US Navy on an Aircraft Carrier, and then worked in the Copper mines in Butte. He came to Detroit, Michigan where he worked at the Detroit Diesel in the Plant Engineering department. After retirement, Patrick volunteered as a bus driver in the Bus Ministries department at various churches, including Faith Baptist Church where he maintained the vans/buses. Patrick is also active in other ministries. He is the proud father of seven children; five of whom were adopted.
As a resident of Canton for 32 years, Patrick also started a Home Improvement business with his five sons. He has been a member of the Summit for over the past 15 years. He is married to Joan McNally, who is a volunteer that you can often find working at the Club55+ front desk. Mr. McNally enjoys a variety of activities at Club 55+ which include playing BINGO, taking trips, and coming in to watch movies. Recently he attended an Oil and Acrylic painting class where he enjoys witnessing the evolution of the beautiful artwork created by other students, as well as the teacher. While here at Club 55+ he also takes breaks to work out in the fitness center using the machines, treadmill, and weights. He thanks God every day for all his blessings and for his home in Michigan and the Great USA. Patrick recommends the Summit on the Park as a great place that will help you keep active and healthy, and he hopes to meet you soon!
Thank you, Patrick, for sharing your life with us and we are so grateful to have you as a member of Canton Club 55+. Interested in being featured in one of our upcoming monthly articles? Please call Canton Club 55+ at 734/394-5485 or email us at jgalazka@canton-mi.org
