Senior Day at the State Fair (Day Trip)
Thursday, August 30, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join us for the day at the Michigan State Fairgrounds. Enjoy continental breakfast, box lunch, vendors, door prizes, and entertainment for Seniors. View indoor exhibits, livestock, agriculture, home art displays and racing pigs, the Butter Cow and entertainment stages. Transportation will be provided via Canton Township vans. Register by August 6.
Fee: Age 62+: $5 ¦Age 50-61: $11
Fee does not include Carnival Rides or Circus admission.

Pole Walking- Drop In 
Tuesdays, Now - August 28, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. 
Looking to continue your pole walking? Join our Pole Walking group that meets each Tuesday morning in the Parkview room and then heads outside to enjoy the paths in Heritage Park. Poles are available to borrow at the Club 55+ desk. Limited quantities.  Fee: FREE

Chair Volleyball (Drop-In)
Thursdays, Now - August 30, 12:00 - 12:45 p.m.
Looking to have fun while getting some exercise? This is a great activity for all levels/abilities; no experience necessary. Games will be played with a beach ball and a low net in the Maple room. Teams will consist of 6-10
participants on each side of the court. Regular participation in this activity can increase flexibility and stamina. Fee: $0M¦$1R¦$2NR

Off to the Zoo
Wednesday, September 5
Visit the Detroit Zoo for Senior Day with special activities, animals and tours for you to enjoy. The zoo has over 125 acres of naturalistic habitats for more than 2,000 animals. See new attractions and visit the spectacular Polk Penquin Conservation Center, the largest facility for Penguins in the world. Register by August 29. Fee: $5 ages 62+


Canton Club 55+ Senior Games

Senior Games

August 20-24, 2018
Attention Adults Age 55+! Club 55+ will be kicking off our games on August 20, followed by the Annual Golf Tournament on August 21! The games will conclude with an awards ceremony for the participants on August 24. This event is open to residents and nonresidents age 55 and older. Games sponsored in part by Heartland.



Golf Tournament: August 21, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Pheasant Run Golf Club

Team Activities:
Tennis (2 per team)
Golf (4 per team)
Pickleball (2 per team)
Trivia (4-6 per team)

Each team member must register and should list teammates. If you sign up as an individual, you will be placed on a team.

Blood Pressure Screening:
August 20, 1:00 p.m. Book an appointment for this FREE service by calling Club 55+ at 734/394-5485. Blood pressure readings provided by Rite Choice.


Nutritional – Congregate Meals
Lunch is served Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.
at the Summit on the Park in the Oak Room.
No charge for ages 60 and older; a suggested donation of $3 is encouraged. There is a $5 fee for ages 60 and younger. Reservations are required by 12 p.m. the day prior; call 394-5485 ext. 1253. Menus available in the Parkview Room.

Hearing Screening and Closed Captioned Phone Presentation 
Tuesday, August 14, 9:00 a.m.
Having difficulty hearing on the phone? Come for a free hearing screening and learn about Oei’s free captioned telephone program. These phones have a large display that types out the conversation as you talk to help with any hearing limitations. Limited space is available. Please register by August 10.

Let’s Get Creative - Recycle Creations
Thursday, August 16, 2:00 p.m.
Be the talk of your neighborhood, after you make a recycled book page butterfly wreath and hang it on your front door.  When visitors come to your door, they may take a longer time knocking because they will be busy reading the butterflies and looking at this beautiful recycled book butterfly wreath. Register by August 9.
Fee:  $4M¦$5R¦$6NR

Please Note

Important:  As of August 3, chair cushions will no longer be supplied by Club 55+, due to sanitary reasons. Individuals may bring their own cushion from home if they would like. Cushions cannot be stored at the Summit.

EXCUSE OUR DUST - The Parkview Room will undergo some renovations for the new kitchenette during the Summit Annual Matienance Shut Down, that will take an additional few weeks. Please check in at the Parkview room for any program cancelations/changes.
